Concerns regarding the safety and/or health of District employees’ work environment should be presented to the Office of Risk Management (ORM). This will trigger investigative action on the part of ORM.
Upon receipt of a complaint, ORM will examine whether an individual or agency has filed a grievance or dissatisfaction relating to environmental safety and/or health concerns within their workspace. Once a complaint is verified, an RPS Occupational Safety Specialist will record it. Complaints will be acknowledged and/or responded to within 24hrs by RPS, unless the issue is deemed to be an emergency, in which case, it will be addressed immediately.
The acknowledgement of a complaint will be in the form of a letter, email, fax, or phone call. If the complaint is not resolved within the timeframe specified, the Occupational Safety and Health Specialist will contact the complainant and provide a status update and expected date of resolution.
