Occupational Safety and Health Initiative

Since Fiscal Year 2008, the Office of Risk Management has administered the Mayor’s Occupational Safety and Health Initiative that educates District government employees about safety and health, fosters greater awareness of safe working environments and provides recommendations on how to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace. The overall goal is to ensure all District government employees receive Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Basic Training. The OSHA training courses provide a solid base and introduction to the essentials of Occupational Health and Safety.
